Old Man and the Sea- Fight Against Santiago

Santiago had not catched a big fish, or really any fish, in a long while. He was so ready to catch a big fish, and he was g0ing to do anything to be able to catch one. So one day, when all the fishermen went out, he did again following the same routine as always. This time though, he went out really far where he knew all the big fish would be. Santiago was not afraid of anything, and he was ready to be able to brag about a fish. Santiago was a very courageous man to be able to go sit out there on the sea in his little boat with no-one else, and out farther than any one else. He had not been sitting out there alone for very long, and he had already caught something. Santiago of course was very happy, because something like that had not happened to him in awhile. He knew he was going to have to sit there and fight the fish until it died, because he knew a fish this size was not going to give up for awhile. Santiago really had no idea what kind of fish he had caught, he could just feel that it was a big one. He finally figured what kind of fish it was when it jumped out of water and then back in the sea. It was a marlin! A fish that he had always wanted to catch! Santiago had to sit there for almost two days and fight the marlin. He had to suffer through bad cuts on his hands and bad cramps. Santiago also had to fight against himself because he could have quit so easily because he was hungry and thirsty, but this fish meant a lot to him. Santiago finally fought against the fish long enough that the fish died and floated on water. On the way back to the dock, Santiago had to fight against many sharks eating chuncks out of his marlin. When Santiago finally got back with his fish, not a whole lot of it was left. He was a little disapointed, but at the same time very proud of himself for fighting against so much and being able to bring home a marlin so big.
